Surfside Primary School Twilight Fresh Food Fair

This popular community event will celebrate the Fresh Food Fair, an evening of food, music, market stalls, rides, students art displays and performances, buskers, a classic car show and much more.The Fresh Food Fair is the school’s major fundraising event for the year, with proceeds supporting their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Old Geelong Gaol

From a lock down over night investigation to a zombie run, The Old Geelong Gaol has what it takes to scare you.

Start the creepiest weekend of the year by staying over night in the haunted convict gaol in the Halloween Lockdown. This is an experience not to be missed but not for the faint hearted! – limited spaces so book quickly.

Get your Walking Dead on and head to the Old Geelong Gaol where you need to find the key to escape a Zombie Attack.

If you really want to test your nerve, join the team of Investigators for a 3 hour investigation on the creepiest night of the year. This investigation will lead you to a number of hotspots in the gaol where you can use their equipment to attempt to capture evidence that the paranormal truly does exist!

The Australian Festival of African Film

The inaugural Australian Festival of African Film comes to Geelong, Victoria from 28 – 30 October 2016 bringing the best of African cinema to Australia.

Presenting films from across the African continent including Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana and Tanzania, the Festival is an opportunity for Australians to experience some of the world’s best cinematic storytelling.

The festival is a celebration of African story-telling on screen and a cultural exchange for Australian and its African cultures. The festival is held with support from the largest global African Film Festival, AFRIFF. This year AFAF is held in conjunction with Diversitat’s 40 Year Celebrations and is also supported through City of Greater Geelong Festival Grants Program.
