Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race set to take over our roads and we are excited!

Once again the 2018 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Event will deliver four days of premier cycling action and entertainment for cycling enthusiasts, spectators, families and the local community. Around 100,000 locals and visitors are expected to line the streets to support the riders.

The event schedule for the 2018 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s road races and the Towards Zero Race Melbourne Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s races have now been announced.

The 2018 Swisse People’s Ride is set to be our best yet, with entrants having the chance to not only ride with Australia’s first and only Tour de France champion, Cadel Evans but also cycling legend and three-time Tour de France winner, Greg LeMond!

This year, they have identified six cheer-sites around the course where you can take advantage of the best viewing points during the races. The spectator guide outlines where to find all of the amenities, big screen live coverage, entertainment, sponsor give-aways and more.

Check out:

  • The event village, start/finish precinct at Steampacket Gardens on the Geelong waterfront;
  • Where to gather in Barwon Heads to see the breakaway establish itself;
  • How to catch the sprint in Torquay along the popular Esplanade; and
  • The best spots to cheer the riders on as they sweat up the climbs including Challambra Crescent (Geelong), Bells Beach (Surf Coast) and Queens Park Road (Geelong).

Why not dress up in a wacky costume, decorate your store or house front and make plenty of noise as the riders and television cameras roll past.

See you there!
